[ Reliability During Campaign Periods ]

Why does a website downtime during a sale cost the business a yearly profit

Extreme productivity ensures that no client will go to competitors due to a white error screen 502/504

[ 01 ]

100% preservation of revenue in 'Black Friday'

When the number of customers increases 20 times in 5 minutes, the site maintains page opening speed less than 0.5 seconds.

[ 02 ]

Protection of reputation and customer loyalty

Clients do not see suspended pages during order placement or double deductions from bank card balances.

[ 03 ]

Hardware costs reduced by a factor of 3–4 through optimization

Instead of buying additional servers indefinitely, we will optimize slow SQL queries and index structure, reducing hosting costs.

[ 04 ]

Scalability forward-looking years

The built-in architecture of horizontal scaling allows painlessly doubling the load every six months by simply adding new nodes.

[ STAGES OF HIGHLOAD ENGINEERING ]

What is included in the preparation and development of systems for extreme productivity

Deep complex engineering work from core profiling to query optimization of databases

[ STEP 01 ] Audit

Profile and identification of narrow points (Bottlenecks)

We use Blackfire, Xdebug and slow-query database logs to identify code sections that block request flow.

[ STEP 02 ] Databases

Database optimization and tuning (MySQL / PostgreSQL)

We are rewriting heavy SQL queries, optimizing B-Tree and GIN indexes, configuring connection pools (PgBouncer / ProxySQL).

[ STEP 03 ] Sharding

Implementation of sharding and Master-Slave replication

We distribute read requests across Read replicas and split large tables into shards (Horizontal Partitioning / Citus).

[ STEP 04 ] Caching

Multi-Level Caching (In-Memory Caching)

We are building a cache cascade: Varnish at the entrance for static HTML, Redis Cluster for sessions and structured objects, OPcache for PHP.

[ STEP 05 ] Queues

Asynchronous queue architecture (Async Workers)

We offload heavy tasks (email sending, PDF generation, inventory deductions) to background workers via RabbitMQ or Redis Streams.

[ STEP 06 ] Stress Tests

Load stress testing (Locust / k6)

Generate synthetic traffic from 5 000 to 100 000 simultaneous virtual users for testing the strength of the entire system.

[ FREQUENT QUESTIONS ]

Answers to common questions from customers

Key details regarding terms, independent website editing, and rights transfer.

RPS (Requests Per Second) — the number of HTTP requests that a server is able to fully successfully process in one second. One user during browsing a catalog may generate 5–15 requests (HTML, styles, photographs, AJAX filters). If the system withstands 10 000 RPS, this means that it easily serves over 50 000 active users simultaneously.

Therefore, one server always has a physical limit: maximum number of CPU cores, memory bus speed, and table locking in the database during parallel writing. Highload architecture implies horizontal scaling (Horizontal Scaling) — when the load is distributed among dozens of available servers simultaneously.

Sharding is splitting one giant table (for example, an orders table with 500 million rows) into several physically separate databases according to a certain key (for example, by user ID or region). This reduces the size of each individual database, speeding up the execution of search queries by tens of times.

Stress testing is usually conducted on an exact copy of the infrastructure (Staging Environment) or during a dedicated nighttime maintenance window with prior creation of a full data backup. This guarantees zero risks for real customers.

One successful sale on "Black Friday" without technical issues covers the cost of optimization several times. In addition, thanks to the acceleration of the company's database operations, they reduce monthly bills for cloud servers AWS/GCP by 30–50%.
