UI and UX: turning a user’s task into an understandable interface
Designing interfaces: user journeys, structure, prototypes, states, accessibility, validation and developer handover.
What visual identity should include: logo, typography, colours, imagery, digital components, usage rules and usable files.
Visual identity helps a company remain recognisable across touchpoints. A logo is only part of the system. Daily work needs typography, colours, composition and rules usable by designers, developers and staff preparing presentations.
Agree audience, communication character and usage situations. Websites, proposals, signage and avatars have different constraints. Test the identity on these touchpoints rather than only a large presentation image.
For example, fine logo details may look good in a mockup but disappear in a small icon. Provide a suitable version and usage rule. Decide variants deliberately so staff do not simplify the mark independently.
Define logo versions, backgrounds, spacing and restrictions. Provide vector and required raster files with clear names. Transparent and dark-background versions must be usable files rather than examples embedded in a presentation.
Agree typefaces, roles and licensing. Test colours in the relevant environment. The palette needs workable text and background combinations rather than merely attractive swatches.
Give buttons, fields, cards and navigation consistent rules. The ALL IT Agency site invokes branded buttons and a universal form as shared components. This preserves identity as pages are added without creating a new version of every element.
Define hover, focus, error and disabled states. Brand colours must not make text unreadable. Test accessibility and responsiveness in implementation because a palette alone does not prove a usable interface.
Agree examples for presentations, documents, posts and key pages. Rules should explain decisions without dependence on their author. If routine material always needs interpretation, simplify the system.
During handover, check files, fonts, permissions and names. Assign the authoritative source and change owner. Add touchpoints using the same principles so updates do not create several incompatible company identities.
